Transphobia

• Cis men and women love to tell me:
  
• Now is not the time to talk about it
  
• Nor is this the place
  
• Can we move this conversation to another channel
  
• (so I don’t have to see it)
  
• We’re trying to keep it light
  
• Find another venue to talk about heavier topics
  
• Because this is a Wendys
  
• (it’s so annoying to me to hear you constantly talk about this)
  
• And is that really transphobic?
  
• Can you explain to me what is transphobia?
  
• My cis friend said I’m not being a transmisogynist
  
• (which I don’t think even exists, anyway)
  
• Really, you’re just discriminating against me because I’m cis.
  
• And I’m not gaslighting you
  
• You’re bullying me —
  
• the actual victim here —
  
• by talking about your oppression.
  
• You see, I fight fascism and transphobia in my real life
  
• (you fucking whiny keyboard warrior, putting these walls of text on my screen)
  
• My friends told me so
  
• And, really,
  
• I agree with everything you’re saying
  
• But you need to be nicer (to me, personally) while you say it
  
• That’s not transphobic
  
• You’re delusional
  
• And just kind of an asshole
  
• And I’m not going to read any of that
  
• Maybe you should give a TED talk.
